Artist profile
I have graduated from the University of hertfordshire and since then have exhibited work in Europe and London.
In amsterdam I was involved in a groupexhibition based around the theme of Tracks. We had to promote and produce work for the show in the space of two weeks.
I have also ben involved with a performance festival n Russia, St Petersburgh where myself and another artist calloborated on a piece of work that asked for secrets. I have also had two paintings exhibited at the Barge House on the london South Bank and more recently have had my photos included n the March issue of "Media Magazine" a web based publication.

About my work
The paintings that I have included look at the city environment and its routines. I have used London as my main point of inspiration as it is where I have grown up. I use environments that are familiar to me, and have had some significance within my life in one way or another, whether it is in a working capacity or through my social life. I suppose these paintings have tried to mix business with pleasure.
I used to work as a data entry clerk after I left university and this experience has stayed with me for a very long time. What I find interesting about working in the city, was the never ending routines, not just of myself but of the people around me. In a city where individuality seemed to thrive, I sometimes found it hard to find the independent thought during the working week. I found it especially hard to see individuality within myself after a while, and still do to a certain extent. I would often find myself living out a certain routine during the week. I would leave my house at a certain time, walk the same route, arrive at the station at the same time, catch the same train, pick up a paper from the same place, roll a cigarette at the same station ready for my departure etc, but more importantly I would see the same people everyday, people who I knew more about their morning rituals than their own personality. I didn't know anything about these people, who they were, what they did, what they liked, nothing….nothing except their train journey and where they preferred to sit on the train. The closest you can get to understand your fellow travel buddies is though the books they read and the music that buzzes from their personal stereos.
And that’s what made me start to think, “what if someone all of a sudden decided to do something to be a bit different today?”
