About my work
My art is about living, about passion and intensity of emotion.
Through images of flowers I try and express various emotions that we feel as humans, as we travel through the complexities of life.
I find that Flowers have been a perfect subject for me to carry these emotions through in my paintings.
Their graceful forms and intense colours, the power that they possess to affect our senses, yet so fragile.
So I like to paint them big, with that power and strength, a closer focus on an otherwise ordinary flower, whilst maintaining the fragile quality as in the sensitivity of emotion, through soft use of colour and brush strokes.
I use watercolour and acrylic paint as my preferred medium as they best suit my subject.
